With its rich history and stunning landscapes, Richmond riverside offers an eclectic mix of shopping,  galleries, bars and restaurants. During the holidays or when you have family and friends to stay, there is plenty to entertain adults and children alike.

Laze by the river bank and watch the world go by whilst sipping a cold beer. Or stroll along to the Terrace Gardens where there’s plenty of space to enjoy the gardens and let the kids run around – plus the Hollyhock Cafe – a very pretty ‘Gone with the Wind’ style coffee house. 

On the water

March – October Turk Launches river cruises will take you right to the hub of the riverside. Bikes and scooters are allowed on board so it’s a great way to pick up one of the cycle routes.

8Hire a rowing boat from Richmond Bridge Boathouses and have fun on the river. Watch the boat builders at work in the boat yard.

Bike hire – cycle to Richmond Park or along the Thames path

Cycle hire is available at Blazing Saddles bike hire on the river front if you want to explore the tow paths or nearby Richmond Park (10 min ride away) where you can enjoy its incredible views across London. In particular, Henry’s Mound at Pembroke Lodge will give you a clear view of St Pauls Cathedral.

Tide Tables terrace

There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the riverside. Check out the White Cross pub  as you step off our pier – fabulous family run pub. Or amble along the front to find Slug & Lettuce, Jackson & Rye and Pitcher and Piano.

Tide Tables cafe further along the river has plenty of chairs and tables outside with views overlooking the river – and is open during spring/ summer.

Decent shopping!

A 2 minute walk into Richmond town centre and you will find a vibrant mix of independant and high street shops and galleries tucked away in the Lanes and up Richmond Hill.

Wholefoods, Zara Home, Massimo Dutti, Cos, India Jane are just some of the more well known brands you will find on the High Street.

Don’t miss the Sunday Duck Pond Market

Each Sunday there is a Duck Pond Market at Heron Square which is well worth a visit – just 2 mins from the boat pier. With entertainment, artisan arts and crafts and street food, it’s the perfect Sunday morning browse. Add in a cruise and you have one thoroughly chilled out Sunday.
